Las Vegas invented the dayclub — the ticketed pool party event that runs from around 11 AM to 6 PM, featuring DJs, cabanas, overpriced drinks, and a specific calibration of organised fun. Whether this appeals depends entirely on who you are. For the right visitor in the right season (spring and autumn when the heat is manageable), a Las Vegas dayclub is one of the more reliably enjoyable things the city offers.
How Dayclubs Work
Dayclubs are at major resort pools and operate as separate events to the standard hotel pool. They have:
- General admission entry: $30–80 depending on the venue, the DJ, and gender (men typically pay more than women)
- Cabana and daybed rentals: $300–2,000+ with a minimum spend on food and drinks included. A cabana for a group of four to six makes sense if you're splitting it and want a guaranteed base
- Bottle service: how the venues make most of their money. Not required
Most Strip hotel guests can access their own hotel pool without purchasing dayclub entry — the ticketed dayclub is a separate event, often at the same pool on different days. Check whether your hotel has open swim days versus dayclub-only days.
The Main Dayclubs
Wet Republic (MGM Grand): one of the largest and most established Vegas dayclubs. Good DJ programming, two pools, reliable energy. Open weekends spring through autumn.
Encore Beach Club (Encore/Wynn): the most upscale dayclub on the Strip. Better pool design, higher minimum spends on cabanas, more exclusive atmosphere. Dress code enforced.
Marquee Dayclub (The Cosmopolitan): multi-level pool complex in the Cosmopolitan, with indoor and outdoor spaces. Good for people who want the option to step back from the sun without leaving the venue.
Liquid Pool Lounge (Aria): more relaxed than the full dayclub format — lounge chairs, bar service, pool access. A lower-intensity alternative for guests who want poolside without the full event atmosphere.
Hotel Pool Access (Non-Dayclub)
Most Strip hotels have several pools, not all of which are dayclub events. The Bellagio conservatory pool, the Wynn pool complex, and the Venetian pool (modelled on Roman baths) are all available to hotel guests without paying dayclub entry. These are significantly quieter and often more enjoyable for actual swimming.
Practical Notes
Dayclubs operate April to October, with peak season May to September. Entry on Saturdays during peak season is the busiest and most expensive. Midweek or April/October visits cost less and are less crowded.
Sunscreen is essential. A full dayclub day without shade is a sunburn regardless of how the rest of the trip is going.
Our Take
One dayclub session is worth doing if pool parties interest you at all. Encore Beach Club for the best setting. Midweek in May or September for reasonable prices and manageable crowds. Budget $100 per person for entry, drinks, and sunscreen, and consider that spent before you arrive.
