Las Vegas in November is one of the best times to visit, and the secret is increasingly out. The brutal summer heat is gone, the weather is genuinely pleasant, and for most of the month the Strip is operating at a pace that doesn't require noise-cancelling headphones just to navigate the footpath.

Weather

Daytime temperatures sit between 14°C and 20°C, with cool evenings dropping to 6°C or 7°C. November days are crisp and clear, with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. The desert light in autumn is excellent. Pack a light jacket for evenings; daytime is comfortable in layers. This is the weather Las Vegas was designed to be enjoyed in.

Crowds and Prices

Early and mid-November are genuinely good value. Hotel rates on the Strip drop significantly from the peak summer and New Year's periods. Flights from the UK and Europe are competitive. The casinos are busy but not gridlocked, and restaurants at the major hotels are bookable without a six-week lead time.

Thanksgiving weekend (the last Thursday in November) is a different story. Las Vegas is one of America's most popular Thanksgiving destinations, and hotel prices spike dramatically across the long weekend. Book well in advance if your dates overlap with Thanksgiving, or aim to arrive after the holiday weekend clears.

What's On

The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix has established itself as a November fixture, bringing a surge of international visitors and sharply elevated hotel rates around race weekend. Check the Formula 1 calendar when you book: if your dates overlap with the Grand Prix, expect significantly higher prices and a different city energy. If they don't, you get Las Vegas without the Formula 1 premium.

Black Friday falls on the day after Thanksgiving and the outlet malls around Las Vegas (particularly Premium Outlets North and South) see significant activity.

One Thing to Watch

The Thanksgiving weekend and Formula 1 race weekend are the two pricing pressure points in November. Outside these, it's an excellent, reasonably priced month to visit. Know your dates relative to these events before you book.
